About the Event
Rules: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. The following Butterfly Class Rules (see www.butterflyer.org) will not apply:
- SAILS - 2. Only one sail shall be used in a race series.
- SAILS - 6. Sails must be set on the mast fully-hoisted to the mast head during racing; the height of the boom on the mast shall be controlled only by the bolt rope and luff of the sail, and the downhaul line, it is not allowed to fix the height of the boom with anything around the mast or in the sail track.
Eligibility: The regatta is open to all boats of the Butterfly class.
Registration: Register by emailing Steve Benenson at smbenenson@gmail.com. The entry fee is $40.00. You may Venmo your entry fee to Steve Benenson at Stephen-Benenson or pay by cash or check Saturday morning at registration. You also may register as late as Saturday morning of the regatta but it be would most helpful to the food planning committee to register by Wednesday, 5/29.
Entry fee includes two continental breakfasts, lunch and Happy Hour on Saturday.

Saturday
- 8:30am – 9:30am Registration and continental breakfast at WRBC
- 9:30am Competitors meeting
- 10:15am Warning signal for first start
- Lunch ashore
- Afternoon races to follow lunch
- After race Happy Hour
Sunday
- 9:00am Continental breakfast at WRBC
- 10:00am Warning signal for first start of the day
- No race to start after 12:00 (Noon)
- Award presentation to follow the last race as soon as possible at WRBC
Sailing Instructions: The sailing instructions will be available at registration.
Courses: Courses will be as provided in the Sailing Instructions.
Scoring: Six races are planned. One race will constitute a regatta. The low point scoring system, Appendix A of the RRS, will be used except that no score will be excluded.
Prizes: Trophies will be awarded to three top finishers and top woman.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY: Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 3, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
