Sea Scouts Ship 1899 - The Aeolus
Chartered by the White Rock Boat Club, Sea Scout Ship 1899 Aeolus, is a part of the the BSA's Sea Scout Program. Sea Scouts seeks to provide youth opportunities for citizenship, service and improved boating skills.
At The Lake
Our ship meets at White Rock Lake in Dallas on Sunday afternoons (2-5pm) twice per month throughout the year. Sea Scouts is youth led and adult mentored. On any given Sunday, you may find our Ship working on seamanship skills like navigation, rigging and knot tying or on the water in kayaks, canoes or one of the sailaway boats.
Beyond The Club
Ship 1899 participates in Sea Scout competitions (“Rendezvous”), regattas (sailing races), and US Coast Guard programming, and travels to various nautical programs across Texas. The ship also plans a “long cruise” adventure each summer. The Sea Scout program includes opportunities for:
