Hi, Social channel! I'm Tony, a new member as of this month. I joined Sail Away for the boats, but I'm equally excited about meeting more people who just love being around the water like I do!
You may have already run across my son, Ben, and I out at the club, and I'm sure you'll see more of us as it starts to cool off! I tried working from the dock the other day, but I only made it about an hour!
Joe Tinin was the director of Counseling at Eastfield College and I was a first year counselor and Psychology teacher. We would bring our Psychology and Human Sexuality and Social Problems classes to White Rock Boat Club and It was so much fun! Students had to write all the things they did and give a speech about it. It is called participatory teaching where the students teach each other from their own xperiences.
We told each student they were our favorite. The students were motivated to be extroverted in class and the more we learned about each other the more we loved each other, My family Joel Janis Jena and Jonathan every Sunday would have a group encounter starting in Junior high. When I joined WRBC I was 26 and a friend Joe Tinnin had a Rebel and we would sail around White Rock and stop at the different docks. We would see young families or awesome women and offer to take them sailing. We tried racing but the boat got beat up by inexperianced sailors so we quit racing! Joe died of cancer and gave me the Rebel and I just sold it after 52 years and bought an awesome Flying Scot for my kids Jena 32 and Jonathan 30.
What fun stories do you have at WRBC?
I am trying to find some diversity to join our club from different countries like India, England, Demark, China or any of the many minorities which walk past our club. Do you have friends who could join our club to give us some color or interesting lives?

You two have not participated? Why? Seems this club is not loving ! It has been man dominates since the beginning in the 60's and is pretty much dead as hardly any one shows up for meetings. 150 members and only about 10% show up. No mixers, no highlighting a member in the news letter no picture of member's family on contact page. No jokes ! NO reaching out to members that do not come like call them and ask what they want. The clubs by-laws are violated and have no meaning as there is no justice strategy providing member representing them selves, evidence or witnesses to prove an injustice. Board is forever follow the leader rather than use surveys to improve the club and evaluate the board yearly. Board is arrogant and does not reply to questions or criticism. Love means truth, not deception to cover up pet board members. Several board members said they only do what they FEEL is in their best regard . We should💌 all be equal as the board are not any way better qualified than most of the members. This site is useless if we are not loving to each member. Joel Jessen
